Kristin Leaf

Kristin Leaf is a Partner in the Family Law Department at Gimbel Reilly Guerin & Brown, LLP, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Known for her rigorous preparation, assertive advocacy, and unwavering commitment to protecting her clients’ rights, she prioritizes clear communication and diligent preparation in every case. With nearly two decades of courtroom and litigation experience, she brings a commanding presence to divorce, custody, support, and high-stakes family law disputes.

Over the course of her 17 years in practice, Kristin has handled a wide range of matters, including family law, criminal defense, civil litigation, and guardianship cases involving both children and adults. These areas often overlap with family law, and her broad background gives her a well-rounded understanding of the issues that shape strategy in complex situations. This perspective enables her to anticipate complications, identify leverage points, and advocate for her clients with thoughtful, informed judgment.

Kristin began her legal career in 2008 with the Law Office of Frank J. Schiro, where she represented clients from initial consultation through final resolution. She has developed a deep ability to guide individuals through emotionally charged legal issues with clarity, compassion, and strong advocacy.

Her training in mediation and alternative dispute resolution further informs her client-centered approach. She is trained as a Civil Facilitative/Hybrid and Adjudicative/Evaluative Neutral, as well as a Family Law Facilitative Neutral, under the Minnesota Supreme Court Rules on Alternative Dispute Resolution. This background equips her to identify constructive paths toward resolution while keeping her clients’ goals at the center of the process.

Kristin earned her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and holds a B.A. in Philosophy with an emphasis in English from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, tending her garden, relaxing at the lake during the summer months, supporting her boys’ athletic activities, and unwinding with a good book.
