Erich C. Straub is an attorney concentrating in family and employment immigration and deportation defense. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and in Super Lawyers since 2009. He serves as a faculty member for the American Immigration Council's Litigation Institute. From 2007-2009, was chairperson of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served on the Board of Governor's for AILA nationally.
Prior to focusing his practice on immigration, Mr. Straub was a criminal defense attorney for almost a decade. During that time, he successfully defended hundreds of cases in state and federal courts. Because of this prior experience, he has a unique combination of experience in criminal and immigration law. He is recognized by many of Wisconsin’s best criminal defense attorneys as the foremost expert in the state on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
Mr. Straub has spoken to audiences throughout the U.S. and has appeared on local radio and television on the topic of immigration. He has worked to improve laws that affect immigrants on both the state and federal level and has traveled to Madison, Wisconsin and Washington DC to meet with elected officials regarding immigration issues. In 2008, the Milwaukee Business Journal described him as a “national leader on the federal immigration issue.”

Worst Attorney in Wisconsin
Took our money and did NOTHING... After months of trying to get a very simple thing accomplished, we were forced to find another attorney. The new firm accomplished in 2 days what Straub couldn't do. He hides behind caller ID to only answer calls from new paying customers.... steer clear at all cost...

Very professional and committed to his clients
I called multiple firms but Atty. Straub was the only one who took my call and took the time to explain everything. We had a horrible experience with another immigration attorney who stole our money and didn’t file what we paid him to do. However I contacted Atty. Straub and he was able to do an emer...

Wonderful Experience, Great Lawyer
Attorney Straub was recommended to us by a friend in the legal field. Not knowing much about immigration, we were hesitant and nervous to contact him. After a few emails, we were able to set up an initial consultation with Attorney Straub. We had many questions, but he explained everything in a very ...

Horrible, arrogant man with 0 people skills.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If there were 0 stars, I would give it to him. He's a very rude, arrogant man that had zero people skills. We agreed on a certain consultation fee over the phone and made an appointment, and when I got there, he completely upped the price and claimed and lied about what was discu...
The potential client was quoted our standard initial consultation fee of $250, which has been the same for at least the last 10 years. When it was clear there was a misunderstanding regarding the fee, the client attempted to negotiate a lower price of $50. The attorney was not rude or angry and answered questions regarding what would occur during the consultation, which typically lasts 45 minutes to one hour. The client wanted the attorney to describe what solution would be offered before paying the fee, which is impossible for an attorney to ethically do without obtaining information from the consultation.
"I endorse this lawyer. When i have clients with immigration issues, I give them Erich's name. He does a great job advising people in complicated intersection of immigration law and other areas, such as criminal and family."
"I endorse this lawyer. He is smart and talented. When I need to refer a client for an immigration matter I refer them to Erich."
"I have had the honor of knowing Erich Straub for 16 years. As a crminal defense lawyer, I often need to consult with an immigration lawyer. Erich Straub has deservedly gained a reputation as one of the very best in Wisconsin. I would not hesitate to trust his advice or to seek his counsel. If you are in need of an immigration lawyer, you cannot do better than Erich Straub."
"Whenever I have a client with an Immigration issue, I demand they go see Eric. He knows his stuff and is very professional and hardworking. I highly recommend him."
