I made the difficult decision to terminate Attorney Christin St. Pierre because I completely lost confidence in my representation. Throughout my case, I felt there was no defense strategy. Instead of discussing ways to challenge the evidence or build a defense, I felt I was simply being encouraged... to accept a plea agreement. I worked hard to demonstrate that I was taking my recovery seriously. I completed numerous treatment programs over the past two years and consistently passed every drug test I took. I provided documentation of both my completed treatment programs and my negative drug test results because I believed they were important for the court to consider. To the best of my knowledge, neither was ever submitted on my behalf. It was incredibly discouraging to put in that work and feel like those efforts were never presented. I also raised concerns about how one of my court-ordered drug tests was conducted because I felt the situation was handled inappropriately and made me uncomfortable. Rather than advocating for me or investigating my concerns, I felt they were dismissed by being told that no one else had complained about that officer. Whether anyone else had complained was irrelevant. I was asking my attorney to take my concerns seriously. Communication throughout my case was poor, and I often felt uninformed about what was happening or what the plan was. When your freedom and future are on the line, you need an attorney who communicates, prepares, and fights for you. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and it is why I chose to hire new counsel.
