John D. Gatzke

John Gatzke is the founder of Gatzke Law, LLC, located in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Representing clients throughout Waukesha County, he focuses the majority of his practice on plaintiff's personal injury litigation, assisting people who have been harmed by others in motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, premises and product liability cases, and pedestrian accidents. The remainder of Mr. Gatzke's practice is devoted for the most part to workers' compensation matters, helping people who have been injured on the job or who have contracted an occupational disease to obtain their rightful benefits. He also handles probate disputes and has experience in real estate zoning and development.

As an undergraduate, Mr. Gatzke attended the University of Wisconsin — Stevens Point and received a Bachelor of Science in communications in 2007. He subsequently pursued his legal studies at Marquette University Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor cum laude in 2012. Admitted to practice before all Wisconsin state courts, Mr. Gatzke is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

During his career, Mr. Gatzke has obtained numerous jury awards and settlements in excess of $1 million for his clients. Representative cases have included a defective products lawsuit brought on behalf of the surviving family members of a man who was killed when a lawn mower overturned on him and a multimillion-dollar jury award in a wrongful death case involving a motorcyclist. An active participant in several professional organizations, he is a member of the American Association for Justice, the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Association for Justice and the Waukesha County Bar Association.
