Ms. Stevens

It would be my experience that in working with Dwight Darrow I came to fully appreciate what it is having a truly intelligent, dedicated, trustworthy and truth seeking attorney can do for a person. Not only was Dwight able to clarify and simplify my case he was also able to quickly and readily obtai...n superior results. Steadfast and certain, Dwight protected me VEHEMENTLY from harmful wrong-doers. People like Dwight just aren't found every day! Best attorney this side of the moon!

Does nothing then wants max pay out!

This guy is ridiculous! Pay over $5000 and my situation is worse then before I hired him. Sits in court with his legs crossed, saying nothing and letting my case just sink. All he cares about is MONEY! GO TO SOMEONE ELSE

Avoid at all costs

Mr. Darrow is easily one of the worst attorneys I have ever dealt with. Very unresponsive and inattentive to needs. Did not share direction or strategy with me as a client. Even resorted to name calling when I expressed my dislike for his performance. Bills for hours of busy work that has no effect o...n the case. I would avoid this firm at all costs. Their responses to reviews also constitutes lible showing he has no respect for his clients

not for his clients best intrest

I paid him upfront to represent. He never asked any question or any relevant information about me.He was not concerned with the best outcome for me. Once he gets the retainer, his morals disappear.

This clearly is not a client. It is unfortunate that places like Avvo have become an avenue for people to attack opposing counsel, try to discredit them all without needing to say who they are. How does one respond to an attack from an unknown person who hasn't the decency to identify themselves. I have had zero complaints from my clients about my work, just the opposite. Clients thank me every day for the work I do and the efforts I make on their behalf.

Best Interest of Dwight

When I first met Dwight he reminded me of an uncle I had. He was easy to speak to, took notes and even made me feel comfortable. As a marketing consultant I gather quite a bit of data and process it. For my family case I had done the same thing naturally. All Dwight had to do was talk strategy and re...view the evidence. I wanted to proceed directly to trial. Dwight instructed me to be quite in a closed court room setting when he was agreeing to something that I was not. Everyone's attorney should represent them in the way they wish to be represented. Dwight instead choose to play court room politics and drag out the case for a period of 8 months, at which point I fired him. I made arrangements to come pick up all of my documents and evidence. I arrived to pick up my items and was informed that I could not have my items, unless I signed off on them. She handed me a piece of paper with a pend and said "sign here." I signed and left, only later did I find out it was a document stating that I owed him money. Dwight billed me for unnecessary reasons. Dwight only looks to serve his best interest. His best interest was dragging out the case. His best interest was in billing me for unwanted services. His best interest was not preparing for trial. His best interest was not in arguing on my behalf. His best interest was his and only his. I am currently exploring my options.

The rules of ethics that govern attorney conduct prohibit me from making a response to this comment that would disclose information about the client or the nature and extent of my representation of a client. While I might like to do so I cannot and will not. I can say that I take great effort to be fully responsive and loyal to my clients. We have a long standing policy that if a client has any questions about billing, all they need to do is talk to me and I am always glad to make things right. Neither I nor my staff would ever not fully explain a document to a client nor would we trick someone into signing something. That kind of statement is completely unwarranted. I have built a reputation for aggressive representation of my clients no matter who is on the other side or who may disagree with me: opposing lawyer, Guardian Ad Litem or even a Judge. I simply am not and never have been part of the good ole boy network. To suggest I would be interested in "courtroom politics" is not only a first for me (in 35 years of practice) but simply silly. I have built a reputation of moving cases along as quickly as they can be moved. Efficiency is in my best interests and the interest of my clients. Practicing divorce law for thirty-five years has taught me that we often see people at their worst Some of this is understandable. Divorce usually stinks. It is a highly emotional time and not something most people want to go through. I understand this and can, mostly, be very patient with that. There are times when a client will not listen to good advice; acts in a way that is harmful to their case and acts in a way that is threatening to their own attorney. In those situations, it is best for an attorney to ask to be discharged in a case. That can lead to bad feelings. For that I am sorry. Like a marriage, an attorney never enters into a relationship with a client thinking that the relationship will sour and become fraught with conflict. Not a desired result and not a result I am happy with. I have built a reputation for always being prepared for trial and for doing an excellent job at trial. I take great pride in preparing for hearings and trials. My opponents and Judges know me as someone who will always be ready to present evidence in a highly organized and effective manner. I wish I could say more but am constrained to do so. Please consider my response when judging me or the work that I do.
