Thomas Shie (pronounced “shy”) has been admitted to practice in both Iowa and Illinois since 1991. He is a Davenport local, graduated from West High School, the University of Iowa, and Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Scott County Bar Association. Tom is also a member of both the Iowa Title Guaranty (Iowa equivalent of real estate title insurance) and the Illinois Attorneys Title Guaranty (Illinois real estate title insurance).
Education:
Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
Juris Doctor (law) degree from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law with High Honors, was a member of Law Review, and was admitted to the prestigious Order of Coif for graduating in the top 10% of his graduating class.
Experience:
Attorney Shie has nearly 30 years of experience and expertise in transactional law, including estate planning (Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney), decedents’ estates (probates and trust administration), commercial and residential real estatetransactions, leases, contracts, business transactions, and business law.
