I have had success in multiple asylum cases based on being part of the LGBTQ community. These cases were in Immigration Court under the possible consequences of deportation. These kinds of cases can ... be very strong if the country is clearly hostile towards the LGBTQ community, but the challenge is showing the Immigration Judge that the non-citizen is credible, meaning actually is LGBTQ, as it is common for people to lie about this. We were able to present testimony in an intentional manner leaving no room for doubt for these cases.

I have successfully defended multiple cases in Immigration Court, with the potential risk of deportation, with Cancellation of Removal as relief sought. This is a VERY difficult form of relief because ... it requires "exceptional and extremely unusual" hardship to the non-citizen's family members if the non-citizen were deported. Immigration Judges are generally very reluctant to grant these cases and they require extensive evidence and persuasive arguments for approval. I have a background in psychology (a Bachelor of Science) which helps me frame psychological harm such as anxiety and depression in proper context to demonstrate extreme hardship.
