Mr. Danenberg shot a family friend in front of her two small children in November 1988 because he believed the friend was responsible for the dissolution of his marriage. He appealed his initial guilt ... y plea, claiming a medication had caused insanity at the time of the crime. After the court set aside his guilty plea Danenberg was tried for murder and the trial began twenty years to the day he shot and killed the family friend.
