Client hired me due to misunderstanding of what the pro's and con's of going to trial were. She was determined to proceed to trial. After reviewing the police report, we were able to sit down and discu ... ss the matter. I made her a chart to provide a visual understanding of the risks and benefits of going to trial were in her particular situation. She realized that in her case, the risk of trial was not worth the benefits. All she really needed was a patient attorney who was willing to listen and explain the legal process to her. Sometimes that's all it takes. It is very common that many issues can easily resolved if we as attorneys are willing to break down the legal ease into layman's terms.
