Plaintiffs Vyacheslav Shirokov and Firebird GT Limited operate in the online rail-ticketing market. In 2025 they sued six defendants: Yan Ardatovskiy, Develup Private Enterprise, Stepan Burlakov, Nexa ... Nova Technologies Ltd., Infinius Investments Ltd., and Vladimir Chernyatovich. Shirokov and Firebird GT asserted claims for trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, fraud, and unauthorized access to computer systems. The trade secret claim alone identified thirty-three separate asserted trade secrets. The case involved source code on two continents, foreign corporate defendants, cross-border discovery, and a parallel proceeding before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Plaintiffs were represented by a large legal team from Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP including Thomas E. Bejin, Rachel S. Horn, Jaimin H. Shah, William Broman, and Robert Fernandes. Plaintiffs were also represented by Charles Griffith Towle and Ben Riley of Bartko Pavia LLP appearing as local counsel. Taft describes itself as “over 1,250 attorneys strong.” Defendants were represented by Henry Nikogosyan of NCLS PLLC and Pavel Kolmogorov of Kolmogorov Law, P.C. Two attorneys from two small firms. On August 19, 2026, Judge Edward M. Chen of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed every claim against every defendant. The case had been pending for sixteen months and was set for trial in May 2027.
