She served as Senior Litigation Counsel and most recently was the Civil Division Chief for the District from 2022- 2025. Rachel is licensed in Iowa and Arizona.
Rachel has tried bench and jury trials in Iowa, Arizona, and in federal court. Rachel has initiated and defended numerous appeals before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Rachel graduated from Iowa State University in 2000 with a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism and Mass Communications and earned her J.D. in 2003 at the University of Iowa.
Rachel lives with her family in Urbandale, Iowa, and enjoys watching her children play soccer and volleyball, reading books, traveling, and cheering for both the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.
