Poor Immigration representation

From day one it seemed like all this attorney was worried about was her compensation $$. The case that we hired her for was supposed to be a "simple" case according to her, but when the process took too long and we saw no further developments. We attempted to reach out to her only to get a negative ...response back. On top of that she made sure that any Text, Email, or Call we made to her was charged per minute! no matter how simple the question was or even if we wanted to know updates on the immigration case. Also, she was never prepared during our hearings in front of the immigration judge there were times that the judge would ask her for certain documents and she would come up with a reason as to why she did not have that document even though she had plenty of time to prepare. Needless to say the verdict was not in our favor and our family member was sentenced to deportation.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
