Biography
Attorney Jean Pendleton has practiced law statewide since 1989, primarily in trial law. After practicing at several law firms in central Iowa, she founded Pendleton Law Firm, P.C. in 2003. Beginning in 2010, Jean and her son, Nick, partnered together in the law firm of Pendleton & Herbold LLP. She joined Dickinson Law as a shareholder in the summer of 2016. Jean is available to clients from bases in Des Moines, Grinnell, Iowa City, and Sioux City.
Jean is proud to be a fourth-generation attorney in Iowa. Her great-grandfather, Isaac Pendleton -- a pioneer settler of northwest Iowa -- began his practice of law in 1858 and was one of the first district court judges in the newly-formed state of Iowa. Jean's grandfather, Edmund Pendleton, was a well-known attorney in Sioux City and her father, Donald M. Pendleton, joined him in the practice of law in 1940. Donald Pendleton was appointed district court judge in the Third Judicial District of Iowa in 1965, where he served until his retirement from the bench in 1982.

Jean Pendleton is THE BEST attorney in DSM.
I only wish I had known about Jean during my divorce. As a father, you have to find strong representation in order to receive a fair custody (and financial) divorce agreement.
