OUI

I found Keith to be informed, prepared and realistic in his advice. My case was resolved better than I had hoped.

In my life, I never imagined I'd need a lawyer!

In the last few years, I’ve had two (criminal and civil) life altering situations that I (family) needed representation from a lawyer, believe me, this is something I never imagined I’d ever need. Mr. Deforge and his staff exceeded all of my expectation on all levels, from information to communicat...ion to making the best decisions based on what we were dealing with. Mr. Deforge pushed the system in the criminal case and achieved a ruling that was out of the normal protocol, record setting! The consulting that Mr. Deforge provided me with in the civil case, protected my future, something that I wasn’t thinking about, as at times we only focus on the immediate because we can’t see clear, as emotions at times cloud our thinking.

Excellent Lawyer

Keith DeForge is the best Lawyer I have ever encountered. No matter how many times I called with questions about my family case, Mr. DeForge would immediately answer all of my questions. Upon hire, he gives his personal number so he is available to contact at any time. He is very straight forward, an...d tells you what your chances are in a court of law. Mr. DeForge helped my family tremendously, as he is very caring when it comes to family matters. He guided me through all steps of the process, and helped me to be more confident about my case. We won our case by a landslide, and I couldn't be happier. Hiring Mr. DeForge was the best possible decision I could have made.

It is sometimes difficult being hired by a parent or grandparent of a client. When attorneys are hired, we represent the client and not the person that paid us. The person that authored this comment was not present for either the contested PPO hearing against her granddaughter or the contested custody trial. The author also failed to mention that the court district that the case was in is a 100 mile round trip from my office. This particular author has no idea how much time I spent with her granddaughter prepping for this case because she was not present for any of it. It is unfortunate that some cases are lost when the facts are against us, but I spend hours trying to turn a losing case into a winner!

Stay Away

We hired Keith and paid him $5,000.00 to appear in Luce County Court, the hearing never happened a year went by and did not hear from him. I contacted his office for a parcel refund after many phone calls $1,000.00 was refunded. So I paid $4,000.00 for an Eight Page Brief. WAY TOO much!

"Keith is an awesome attorney! I have known Keith now for a number of years, and he is a meticulous lawyer who is willing to fight for his clients. It's nearly impossible to find a great lawyer in the UP, but Keith fits the bill. If you're charged with a crime in Michigan north of the bridge, you can put your faith in Mr. DeForge because he's one of the few lawyers up there who is willing to put in the effort that you deserve in your case."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
