Grady and Sandi Wicklund v. Pacfic Cycle LLC and Pacfic Cycle, Inc.
Jun 23, 2010OUTCOME: Verdict for $1,100,707.06
Mr. Starr represented the Plaintiffs, Grady and Sandi Wicklund, in this products liability claim involving a bicycle originally manufactured by the Defendants that was subsequently modified by an indiv ... idual in Florida, adding a motor to it to make it a Moped-like bicycle. It was then sold on eBay to Plaintiff, Grady Wicklund. The third time Mr. Wicklund rode the bicycle, which was a beach cruiser model with a front fender, the front fender tab broke, causing the front fender to drop down into the tire and jam the wheel. As a result, Mr. Wicklund was flipped off the back of the bicycle, breaking his wrist, tearing his rotator cuff, and sustaining cuts and abrasions. Mr. Wicklund had approximately $75,000.00 in medical expenses, and approximately $25,000.00 in lost wages. A two-day jury trial occurred in front of Judge Frizzell, with the jury returning a verdict for the Plaintiffs in the amount of $1,100,107.06.
