Concealment (Unemployment Case)
May 11, 2022OUTCOME: Won - no concealment
A recent case involved a client accused of concealment, which is the term used for intentionally misleading the Department. It is an accusation of fraud. We were able to show that the Dept. of Workfor ... ce Development did not provide proper information to the client. This result was especially important because if concealment is shown, benefits can be reduced, and the reduction can range from 2- 8 times the claimant's benefit rate for each act of concealment.
