A Case for the Ages

I was charged with Operating While Intoxicated in August 2018, on the first night of my final welcome weekend while attending Central Michigan University, and to say the least, I was absolutely destroyed. I know that I made a serious mistake, and I knew in that moment that I had been pushing my luck.... But I was was given my charge on the side of the road after showing a BAC of 0.08, and felt very frustrated that no mercy whatsoever was shown in the process of the arrest. The arresting officers were not unkind, but they were unforgiving, and decided to make an example of me. After posting bail the next day, I quickly went about seeking legal assistance, as I felt that I had a chance to argue my case. Soon enough I found Anthony Cavalieri of Barberi Law, and after meeting with him the first time, I could tell through his character and the tone with which he spoke to me, that he would be the ideal person to have fighting on my behalf. He spoke to me in a very professional manner each time we met, but through the professionalism, I could see that he sincerely cared for me and my case. He proceeded to actively pursue all options in pleading down my charge to Careless Driving, through four trial conferences, and seemingly endless phone calls and correspondences with the prosecutor's office. Little did Mr. Cavalieri know, that my luck is some of the most unfortunate in certain aspects, and over the next seven months, we faced a slew of ridiculous circumstances and situations. First, we heard nothing from the prosecutor's side of the matter, and by the 3rd or 4th conference, I believe, the prosecutor went on vacation. Then November came along, and suddenly my prosecutor was elected to a position that no longer allowed him to pursue my case. So there I was left, with no prosecutor wanting to pick up where it was set down, still just out on bail for the remainder of 2018, and well into the first couple months of 2019. But Anthony endlessly continued pushing and searching for a prosecutor. Each and every time I spoke with him over this course of time, he was entirely polite and apologetic for the ridiculous circumstances. I could always tell that he sincerely wanted to ease my worries, and I appreciated that more than anything. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of, and Anthony was more than generous with his time and effort. He would always be honest and straightforward about his thoughts on the case and what he expected, not once giving me false hope or any significant doubt. After each discussion with him, I was able to breathe a sigh of relief and move on with my life for the moment. Knowing that I had Anthony on my side provided me with optimism and comfort that I surely would not have had without him, and he brought peace of mind to my family and I. On March 1st of 2019, I was finally charged, and for each step of the process, Anthony was giving me every piece of advice that I would have needed. He told me what to say, do, and expect, and it all proceeded just as he described. Overall, I could not have asked for a better attorney than Mr. Cavalieri, and I will continue to value the association that we had, indefinitely.
