Represented the plaintiff, a former university librarian, on appeal after the trial court dismissed her wrongful termination lawsuit against McNeese State University on procedural grounds — specificall ... y, a ruling that she had failed to properly serve the Louisiana Attorney General under the state's service-of-process statute, R.S. 13:5107. Argued to the Third Circuit that timely service on the named defendant, McNeese itself, satisfied the statute's requirements notwithstanding the AG not being separately served. The Court of Appeal agreed, reversed the trial court's dismissal, and remanded the case for further proceedings — reviving the client's right to pursue her wrongful termination claim.
