I represented the father in a case where the the mother was trying to get more than $10,000 in back child support and future child support at around $700-$900 per month. My client had been established ... the legal father via a court order that required him to provide insurance, which he was, and addressed but did not order child support. Client was paying a few hundred dollars each month voluntarily but stopped when the mother quit letting him see the kid. At the hearing, I got the Court to take judicial notice of the Final Judgment of Paternity.

OUTCOME: Total Victory - My Client has 100% Sole Custody

Unusual situation where a husband and wife separated, the wife moved out of state with the child, and then died. The wife's parents (child's grandparents) gained temporary custody of the child out of ... state by saying they didn't know where the father was. I filed to domesticate the case to Florida and vacate the order giving the grandparents temporary custody. I argued that the order was missing the mandatory findings, and that there was no way to reach the mandatory findings given my client was a stable, employed loving father. The opposing counsel kept trying to force my client to sign agreements granting 50/50 custody to the grandparents, and then an agreement requiring my client to give them visitation. We declined, the order was not renewed, and my client gained sole custody of his child.

Unmarried father's ex girlfriend was keeping the client's son from him. Case was initiated with a different attorney and had been going on for years. Within months of being hired, I scheduled the cas ... e for a Case Management Conference, a Pre-trial Conference, and Trial. At trial, I was able to show that the mother's only goal was to eliminate my client from the young boy's life. I argued that the only way this young boy would have both parents in his life was if my client had majority timesharing. The opposing counsel argued my client worked too much and could not be there for the son. The judge agreed with me and granted majority timesharing for my client, with the opposing party only getting every other weekend.

OUTCOME: Victory at Mediation - My client got majority timesharing (custody)

I represented the minor child's adult sister. The child's mother was in jail and the young boy was living with his father. His father was more interested in hanging out with his friends, drinking, an ... d smoking. The boy was not doing his homework and would show up to school dirty. At a hearing the judge made it clear that she was unhappy with the situation and ordered us to mediation. At mediation, I was able to convince the child's father that allowing the child to live with his sister was better for both the father and the child. The father wanted to party and the young boy needed a safe place to sleep.
