Client has a protected survivor benefit from a police pension but her ex-husband filed an action in Court to change the terms of the Judgment eliminating her right to get survivor benefits. Ex husband ... attempted to roll his retirement benefits into a Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) which could eliminate client's future benefits. Attorney DuBey research the complexities of this issue to include case law precedent. He marshaled the attorneys at the Office of Law and the PD pension system to persuade the Opposing Counsel to change their demand. This protected his client's future rights. He also successfully argued to our client to have all of her attorney's fees repaid by her ex.
