I graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1990 , and a Juris Doctor in 1994 from the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene, Oregon. Upon graduating from law school, I practiced law in southern California until 2000, when I returned to West Michigan. I joined the law firm of Coupe, VanAllsburg & Pater, P.C., in 2000 where I practiced business litigation, consumer bankruptcy, personal injury, and criminal defense. In 2002 I joined the firm of Steven E. Bratschie & Associates, P.C., in December 2002 (now Michigan Legal Specialists, P.C.). In July of 2014 I joined Hoesch & Vander Ploeg, P.L.C. and spearheaded the creation of a robust litigation collection practice with thousands of cases all over the state. In February of 2017 I opened my new firm, Law Offices of Scott Mancinelli, continuing the tradition of creative and aggressive client representation. My practice has covered a wide array of matters including complex commercial litigation, contract disputes, non-compete violations, business divorces, real estate litigation; employment and labor law, personal injury, medical malpractice, legal malpractice insurance subrogation, fraudulent conveyances, and bankruptcy matters. Mycurrent area of emphasis is creditor's rights and collections - he is a member of several industry groups including CLLA and DBA International. I am a member of the State Bars of Michigan and California, the U.S. District Courts for the Western & Eastern Districts of Michigan, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. I has been on the case evaluation panel for Kent County since 2005 and the Case Evaluation Panel for Ottawa County since 2007. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Community Health Center of Holland.

Scott Mancinelli review
We hired Scott to defend our son. The case content was something Scott had not worked in before. He did a great job and was very professional. He communicated with us every step of the way.
I enjoyed working with Stephen and his son and we obtained a great result in a short period of time.

Real Estate lawsuit
Scott Mancinelli helped me with a lawsuit regarding a real estate issue. I am so glad I had him as my attorney. He really fought for me and the settlement went my way. If I have any issues in the future he will be the one I call.

Work separation consultation and ultimately hiring Scott Mancinelli
I was faced with a difficult situation with my then employer. My bonuses/commissions were being withheld as well as subsequent restructuring of same that were not in my best interest. Real Estate Defense Mediation
Scott was very quick to understand the issues in a threatened lawsuit and quickly responded with a convincing response to the opposing attorney. "I endorse this lawyer. Scott worked in our office when he resided in California. He was hired from over 100 applicants. He handled our litigation matters with little or no supervision. We could always count on Scott to do the job well and represent our clients in a professional manner. He also helped streamline our office policies and procedures. I wish he were still here."
"I endorse this lawyer. Although, Scott is my younger brother, this endorsement is based on the legal work we have done together through the years. He is by far the most detailed lawyer in litigation matters I have ever worked with. He is an excellent writer and an innovative thinker. These qualities make an excellent litigator. I would not hesitate making a referral to him."
