Not worth it. I first spoke with him about a third DUI offense and like usual I was quickly asked to pay a significant retainer up front. There were significant factors that would’ve affected my case in a positive direction for me which his office failed to utilize. His secretary loved to try and sca...re and talk about all the maximum potential penalties and going to prison for life and how things were going downhill as far as my case was concerned. I ended up firing them and retaining a new lawyer out of Holland who actually took the time to listen and utilize some of the information I supplied him with which ended up greatly benefiting me and I ended up serving 38 days in the county as a result. I paid the new lawyer less than what I had to pay Mr. Purdy’s office for the little work that they did to begin with. I think Mr. Purdy is close to retirement and not looking to do a whole lot and he has his secretary scaring clients with worst case scenario so that they end up looking good if it turns out any better. My advice is to talk to others that have gone through a similar situation and get a good referral because there are plenty of lazy people out there that will grab your money and do very little.
