James Marek did not even show to my divorce hearing. I had to represent myself! He never called after to apologize, let alone give me a partial refund. Marek Law Group made an already terrible time in my life as stressful as possible. Rewind to the beginning- Marek never communicated he would be sen...ding the Answers, when they were sent to the court and my ex, nor emailed me a copy of the Answers I requested. There is a 21 day deadline for this or the court could enter a default against me (I would not have input in the hearing). So I wanted to make sure this was completed - during the last two wks before my 21 day deadline I called his office 5 times, left voicemails, and spoke with his receptionist numerous times to request he call me. He did not return a single call. Nor did I receive a response to the 3 emails I sent! I also wanted him to file a Counterclaim, bc if you don’t, and spouse dismisses the case, my case would end. Marek did not submit a Counterclaim. I had to call the Circuit Court Records office to find out that Marek filed my Answers. I also found out my hearing date from the court website before I found out from Marek.

I had worked with different lawyers prior to working with him and was thoroughly impressed with his expertise. He had the experience to know when my expectations were unrealistic, but was actually able to get me more than I was hoping for in my divorce. He won't mislead you about your options, whic...h was something I really appreciated, because he didn't waste my time & money on things that wouldn't have mattered anyway. My cousin's friend is a judge that works with him, & he said he's one of the best.
