Kevin M. Huss

 

I help individuals, couples, and families plan for the distribution and administration of assets after death and in the event of disability; pass wealth to younger generations; prepare for end-of-life decisions and establish charitable giving. I draft estate plans that include wills, trusts, powers of attorney, patient advocate designations and other related documents.  In addition, I have successfully assisted dozens of clients in probate court, in matters involving guardianships, conservatorships and the administration of probate estates.

 

For business clients, I assist clients in forming business entities, resolving real property issues, drafting buy-sell agreements, contracts, leases, and other legal documents, counsel on succession planning, and advise small businesses on employment related issues. My clients include small to mid-size businesses and family-owned businesses.

 

While in law school, I participated in the Valparaiso University Law School Sports Law Clinic, which assists individuals participating in amateur athletics with legal issues relating to the sporting world.  During that time, I was a part of the first legal team to prevail over the United States Anti-Doping Agency in a doping arbitration case.  As part of that project, I argued before the North American Panel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

 

I am active in the Muskegon community, currently serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Muskegon County Bar Association.  I am also the current President of the Board of Trustees of the Hackley Public Library, and I am a board member of The Hume Home of Muskegon.   

 

I am a lifelong resident of Muskegon, Michigan, where I live with my wife and daughter.  My hobbies include golfing, bowling, camping, Detroit Tigers’ baseball and University of Michigan athletics.
