Ryan was born and raised in West Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics and Spanish and earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2001. After law school, he practiced as a corporate and securities associate with a large law firm in Philadelphia for two years before returning home to West Michigan and joining Scholten Fant.
