Estate Plan

Chris did a relatively simply estate plan for my husband and me. The plan included a trust, pour-over wills, powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, and a deed. The process was thorough and efficient, and based quotes I received from other estate planning attorneys the plan was relatively ine...xpensive. We are very happy with Chris and will refer both family and friends to him.

Very Positive Experience

After interviewing multiple other attorneys from both large and small firms, I engaged the services Mr. Brown to create an estate plan to address very complex property succession issues on multiple pieces of waterfront property. The properties involved were purchased over 80 years ago and underwent a... staggering increase in value during that time. As a result, my family was confronted with significant tax concerns related to the succession of ownership, and faced with very real possibility of forced liquidation/sale due to both uncapping and (potentially) estate tax burdens. To address this concern, Mr. Brown created the requisite trust documents and associated documents (wills, powers of attorney, living wills, etc) ultimately ensuring my family’s (three generations worth) continued enjoyment of the properties, as well as the enjoyment of many future generations. Throughout the process, Mr. Brown was patient and took the time to explain to all parties involved the aspects of the plan he created, making sure the advantages and disadvantages were clearly understood. He facilitated uncomfortable conversation among family members, making sure all areas of concern were addressed. Additionally, he welcomed questions (sometimes the same question several times) as well as alternate suggestions/possibilities for addressing our concerns. Over the time frame during which I worked with Mr. Brown, several things were perfectly clear: (1) he wanted us to be informed about all of our options, (2) he wanted my entire family to be comfortable with ultimate direction, and (3) he wanted the plan he created to meet our objectives, and abate our concerns related to succession of the property. Moreover, while not a primary motivating factor, relative to the other attorneys/firms I interviewed, Mr. Brown provided exceptional value for the services rendered. I have since had a big-firm attorney review the plan Mr. Brown created for us, and the attorney not only said that it was a through and impressively comprehensive plan, he indicated that his firm would have charged 2.5 – 3 times more than charged by Mr. Brown. In short, Mr. Brown provided excellent service for a very good price. Based on my experience, I would not/do not hesitate to refer friends, family, or anyone interest in estate planning services to Mr. Brown.
