Called to ask secretary/ receptionist if they had received the email Cindy asked me to send after the consultation. After no word for two weeks I called to see if perhaps they had not received it. Was informed they had not. I verified the email address which was correct and resent the email. A coupl...e weeks later of no word I received a bill for $60 for speaking to the receptionist/secretary and apparently the secretary reading it. It was a short email.

My son had a consultation with Cindy Thomas regarding custody and child support for his children. Cindy did not give him an approximate amount of the child support he would pay at time of consultation, but said it would be "a lot". When my son called a few weeks later and asked for a more definitive... amount, he was told he could make another appointment which would cost him another $100 to get the answer. Wow. Good thing he consulted with attorney Tom Shaffer in Marshall. It took his staff less than 5 minutes to plug in the numbers and give him an answer. And, Shaffer's consultation fee was only $75. Wish we would have thought of Shaffer from the beginning, as with 50+ years of practice, this guy is a bulldog with a great success rate in the cases he tries in court. By the looks of Shaffer's desk, he's a busy busy attorney who certainly doesn't need this shout out to feed his family by any means. We just are thankful someone informed us of the great work he does, and that we got a second opinion. If Cindy Thomas was going to charge another $100 to get a 5 minute answer to an answer we should have gotten at the consultation, I hate to think how much money my son would have incurred with her fees had he chose to have her represent him. Good luck to anyone who seeks her representation. I hope you have a fat wallet as you're most likely going to need it.

I hired Cindy L.Thomas back in March for my divorce, I clearly asked about the cost, she gave me what I thought was a fair price. Due to my divorce was very simple, there was no minor children and everything was mutually agreed between myself and ex husband. I was very clear in my consultation I di...d not want to spend a lot of money, I actually had my ex husband go in and sign, pick up his paperwork to avoid extra cost. I only went to the office 3 times, and seen her for 10 minutes in court. I recently received an additional bill for an extra $270.00, one of the charges on the bill was $25.00 for 2 questions a 2 minute phone conversation with the office staff.. Today I called the office to pay the $270.00 and was questioning the additional fees, the office staff tells me I have an additional bill for $270.00.. I was pretty upset to find out what I thought I would be paying 270.00 now the cost to what I owe is $540.00 expressing my concern, because again my case was very simple, Her office staff was very rude and very unprofessional she hung up the phone. I paid the agreed upon fee up front. Very disappointed, it would have been nice if communication was clear, and the office staff to be a little more professional, No one in a place of business should hang up on a customer.

Outrageous legal bills, poor results and Attitude sums up my experience with Cindy Thomas of Battle Creek Michigan. I was treated as though my custody battle was trivial and unimportant. Never again will I allow myself to be represented by a woman who acts indifferent to my needs and is so poorly pre...pared for court! Seek out a reputable firm or consider representing yourself.

I decided to use Cindy for my divorce through a suggestion by a family member who had used her before. She was very rude, and generally didn't care about the scenario on what was going on, just what would soak up time to make her money. I feel like she took advantage of me, and I paid her 3500 and sh...e burned through that in two months with paperwork and 2 court hearings. She withdrew as counsel and has proceeded in harassing me for money as I have a balance still due on my account. Lady, I'm broke. I pay over half of my income to child support because you wanted to withdraw, and now she's threatening to sue me for the 1200 or so I still owe? Stay away. Stay far, far away.
