Listen to the reviews! Do not choose her!

Michelle tells you what you want to hear at the initial consultation. Even if she KNOWS that she can't win the case, she will tell you she can. ($$$) She did VERY little to no prep for my hearing and had about a year to prepare! Near the end of all those months, she tells me that - by law - our ca...se cannot proceed. She was wrong! We (client) pushed and it continued. So, clearly, she doesn't know the law! Her billing system was horrendous - giving two different dates for each service line item, billing for things she didn't do (like subpoenas), adding tax to services, etc. When I mentioned that I wasn't happy with her services thus far, she threatened to drop me as a client. She knew she had me over a barrel and couldn't start again with another attorney after a ton of money had been put into her, and the hearing was just a couple of weeks away. She begged me to drop the hearing up until the moment of the hearing. I believe she just didn't want the "loss" on her record and /or KNEW she wasn't prepared. If she knew all that time that we wouldn't win the case, she never should have taken it - and especially asked for a second retainer fee that was exhausted within a week or two. At the actual hearing, she had approximately six questions scratched out on a piece of paper (that I'm relatively certain she did while we were AT the courthouse) to ask the opposing witness. There were approximately three other people in the courtroom who she should have called to the stand to testify as well and she never called any other witness. She had actually told me NOT to bring any evidence that I had spent months collecting for her to the hearing that day because, she said, we would not be presenting evidence or doing testimony at that particular hearing. AGAIN, she was wrong!!! Testimony was taken and I was not given an opportunity to supply any evidence / paperwork, etc. She blew this horribly! Near the end of my time retaining her, I had read a lot of negative reviews about her online (check the various online attorney review sites - Had I seen them earlier, I would have certainly gone with another attorney) which indicated the same problems with her that I had. One person said she lost their entire file! Being prepared doesn't seem to be a strong suit for her. I highly recommend NOT retaining her. She walked away with thousands of dollars for doing relatively nothing on my case.

Thankful!

I am very thankful for Michelle as she helped through a very difficult time, and divorce! She not only was able to secure the best outcome for me, but for my two children as well. Michelle worked tirelessly to make sure that we were taken care of fairly and respectfully, even after it was dragged o...n for two years because of the other party. She never gave up, and made sure I didn't either. I would have appreciated more answers and communication from her, but I know that she is busy and has a lot of cases to attend to. At the end of the day, what mattered was, that every time we went to court, she was prepared with all the information we needed. I could not have navigated the divorce, court system, and legal process without her. Thank you!

Worth every penny

Michelle was a huge help from start to finish. She worked quickly and efficiently and always showed me empathy and compassion. I really relied on her and she was so knowledgable and understanding. I am very pleased with the result.

Couldnt have done it without her!!

I recently moved to Kalamazoo and was really struggling with custody to see my son. I went to Michelle by finding her on google and really felt like I hit the jackpot after leaving the consultation. I felt so comfortable and really informed after speaking to her. She guided me step by step on what I ...need to do and what she is going to do for me to help me get to see my son. She worked with me throughout the way by keeping me updated with court dates and fighting for custody. Without her I wouldn't have my son as much as I do now and I could not be more grateful.
