David W. Brauer

I was not David Brauer’s client, but my experience dealing with him was deeply concerning. Because his fees were covered at a reduced rate through his client’s employer-provided MetLife legal insurance, there appeared to be little incentive for him to move the case along efficiently. Progress was ex...tremely slow, with minimal effort on basic tasks. Mr. Brauer repeatedly arrived at meetings and inspections looking disheveled: CPAP marks still visible on his face, wrinkled clothing, and jeans instead of business attire. It gave the impression he wasn’t taking the matter seriously. Most disturbing was his creepy & invasive behavior during a court-ordered visit to my home. Without permission or escort, he entered my master bedroom & bathroom. When I walked in he was fondling my personal belongings. It was violating, predatory, and completely unacceptable from any professional, let alone an officer of the court.

David told me he needed a retainer, even though I had ARAG, to help me with a document to sell my home. He literally downloaded a form template (probably from the internet) and sent it to me with parts not filled in, names misspelled, and the wrong genders. He couldn't have spent more than 10 minutes... on it. I could not use the document and instead went through the form template from the title company. Of course, he kept my retainer. I felt totally scammed. Wish I would have stayed away from this attorney!

The man could barely pry his eyes from his phone on greeting me. I explained why I was there. In the middle of my discussion the secretary yells about a phone call. He interrupts me with his hand! Leaves and takes this call. I have it about five seconds too long. Packed my papers and stormed out. On... the way out, I see him reclined back on the phone. I was livid. Hope his business tanks.

If you want a secretary to stand up for you, hire David Brauer. If you want a lawyer, go somewhere else. The secretary will say one thing, and David will call you back saying another. They are never on the same page. Like most lawyers, they overcharge - but David and his team are not trustworthy.... I have timed my phone conversations with this team and I still get billed for 10 and 20 increments. Davids response is he tries to do the billing as fair as he can. I asked them to stop contacting me at one point, and they still would call and charge me for 10 minutes even when we didn't answer the phone. What this team did, I could of done myself. I wish I would of read the reviews prior to giving this team a retainer fee.
