Carl M. Woodard

We hired him over a custody issue for our grandson. He assured us that $1200 would easily take care of the total cost. That was in May. The only thing we got from him was asking for more money because he said it was more complicated than he thought. By August we were in to him for $3600 for a useles...s piece of paper that wouldn't stand up in court. We haven't heard from him since. We even had another lawyer send him an inquiry and they never got a response either. In our opinion he is dishonest.

I hired carl this year like 2019 Feb paid for a simple divorce no kids minimal property, he said it would be simple. After paying in full .carl avoided my calls text,until i would call from different number..i never would get notify of court dates.i would request information .and wouldn't recive,the...n I had a contempt of court and was fined 600, cuz carl never contacted me.nor did he show for court then next court date I got another contempt ,and another 600 fine,with a bench warrent, this was over the interagotoiers..carl lied to judge stating he never recieved them on time.and he said I needed not to go to that court date so I didnt even know he was blaming me.. but I have proof they was sen 3 different month and was sent 3 different ways. Then after he gets me 2 fines warrent and does nothing on my behalf, he quits stating to judge it was me who just was un reachable..and never notified me until a day before another said court date... so after all this I asked carl to fix this,he said he would give me 400 of my 900 back , well it's been over a month and I've asked and sent multi messages. And still no money..thank goodness I hired another great lawyer very informative brian hoffman..but I wouldn't ever hire carl... so 900 I paid him and the two fines of 1200 and supposed to do 30 days in jail .I'm out 2100 and gotta sit in jail,and my divorce is still not done .

My wife hired this woodard for custody battle with her ex. He came to our house and said $700 to start it. My wife paid him $700 cash and he said he would send her a receipt but never did. He had her show up to the courthouse with a one page letter that was incorrect to file. He did not even go in th...e courthouse and wanted my wife to file it. I told her that you paid him to file it . So it never got filed and never heard from woodard again even after many attempts to get at least half the money back.

My husband and myself hired this attorney 6 months ago regarding a property issue , the township wants to settle with us but Mr Woodard is no where to be found, after paying him 2,000.00 and going to court for us once he has disappeared, to bad he has to lie and take people's money to make a living,... I will be filing a complaint against him, he should not be allowed to practice law, I don't want this to happen to someone else. Disgusted in Michigan
