Brian R. Schrope

Mr. Schrope handled a criminal case on my behalf. Throughout the entire process, he did not communicate a "strategy" to me and did not respond to my requests for meetings to discuss my case. Overall, he came to my case with the mindset that he was working only towards a plea agreement. When we fin...ally got in front of the judge, he told him "this was just another case, the same as every other one I have handled." I feel as though he was too chummy with the prosecution and bench, and did not champion me as "innocent until proven guilty." He saw me as a guilty client to collect a fee from and to push through the system as quickly as possible. We never once held a discussion on trial strategy, nor did he raise the point that we should go to trial. In the 3 years since the conclusion of my case, I have discovered that as an attorney, it was Mr. Schrope's job to present my case to win, not to just go for a good plea agreement. At the end of the day, I feel that I received very poor representation in my case, and as such, cannot recommend Mr. Schrope to anyone. In fact, I steer anyone who asks for a recommendation away from this attorney in particular.
