With Aldea-The People's Justice Center, the Law Office of Amy Maldonado, and DLA Piper, we sued on behalf of two asylum-seeking children who had been separated from their fathers at the border under th ... e Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy. The boys were held at an ORR shelter in Chicago while their fathers were held in adult detention a thousand miles away, in New Mexico and Texas. Despite having been told by ICE they would be reunited in 3-5 days, they did not see each other for seven weeks.
