Plaintiff, M-36, went to the Defendant's bar in Stone Park, IL with a friend. While at the bar, Plaintiff was in a dispute with a fellow bar patron. An argument ensued and Plaintiff was punched in t ... he face, and suffered a broken nose. Plaintiff contended that the bar was negligent for providing inadequate security, in a bar of 120 people with a history of fights. The defense expert contended that the 2 security guards were sufficient and that nothing could have prevented the fight. Following a five day trial, the jury returned with a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff.
