Do not hire this rude unprofessional attorney

One missed phone call showed me exactly how this attorney treats a potential client going through a crisis. We contacted Attorney Benjamin Allyn of Allyn Law, PC seeking legal representation for a Michigan first-party fire claim against Allstate involving the January 19, 2026 loss of our home. ...This was not some insignificant matter. We lost our home and are fighting with our insurance company over the claim. We reached out to an attorney because we needed legal help during an already extremely stressful situation. A consultation was scheduled for 3:00 PM, and unfortunately the call was missed. That part is not disputed. We missed the call. But here is what I found completely unreasonable: Benjamin Allyn emailed afterward stating that he had tried calling. The very next morning, we texted him directly and said: “Hey Ben this is Joshua I missed your call yesterday please call at this number.” There was no attempt to pretend the appointment hadn’t been missed. We immediately acknowledged it and tried to reconnect. His response was: “Joshua, I called you yesterday at our scheduled consultation time and followed up by email afterward. I am not interested in rescheduling the consultation. I wish you the best with your claim.” Seriously? Someone contacts your office because their home burned down, they are dealing with an insurance dispute, they miss one consultation, contact you the following morning, and your response is essentially that you are no longer interested in even speaking with them? Of course an attorney has every right to decide whom they will or will not consult with or represent. What bothered me was the complete lack of grace, understanding, or willingness to accommodate one missed call, followed by “I wish you the best with your claim.” That well-wish felt incredibly hollow considering the circumstances. People dealing with catastrophic property losses are juggling insurance companies, paperwork, temporary living situations, finances, phone calls, and the emotional consequences of losing their home. Sometimes people miss an appointment. We didn’t disappear for weeks or repeatedly waste his time. We contacted him the next morning. If missing one consultation is enough for an attorney to decide that he has absolutely no interest in rescheduling with someone seeking help after a house fire, prospective clients deserve to know that before deciding whom to contact. In hindsight, I’m glad this happened before we entrusted him with our fire claim. When I’m hiring an attorney to stand beside me during a fight with an insurance company, communication, professionalism, patience, and basic human compassion matter to me. This interaction told me everything I needed to know. And Benjamin, there is really no need to “wish us the best.” We will find representation, continue fighting our claim, and move forward. I am simply sharing exactly how we were treated so that the next homeowner going through a devastating loss can decide whether this is the type of attorney they want representing them.
