Worst decision I ever could have made hiring this attorney.
I hired Denis McCarthy to represent me in my divorce after reading reviews on the internet. This the was worst decision I have ever made. He gave very little, if any advice during my divorce proceedings. He pushed to have me and my ex wife go into mediation, where I don't think he ever opened his mou...
The reader should ignore the spurious and defamatory review by this individual. You SHOULD hire this law firm. The reader is directed to the other reviews of Mr. McCarthy by normal individuals. This individual was given good, ethical advice by the attorneys at Kohl Harris. It is true that the firm planned to withdraw from this individual's representation; however, HE and the firm then agreed that the firm would continue to act on his behalf. HE and his now ex-wife AGREED to have the case mediated. Divorce cases are often mediated, saving the clients money, as opposed to having the matter tried before a judge, which could take days and would likely cost significantly more than mediation. This is why mediation is often AGREED to by the litigants - it saves the client money. AGREEING to mediation is most often the wisest course of action in a divorce case with no children. This individual's divorce case was successfully mediated by one of the best mediators in the area, Robert Badgely. (This firm highly recommends Mr. Badgley). Successful mediation means that each party agreed that the settlement reached was fair and equitable. This individual found the agreement to be fair and equitable, and the case was settled. This individual was provided the contact information for the Attorney Grievance Commission of the State Bar of Michigan making it quite easy for him to file a grievance, should he so choose. To date no grievance has been filed.

First impressions are very important when contacting an attorney. Upon my initial call, I was impressed by the responsiveness and assistance provided by Denis' office staff member, Darcy. She was certain to obtain the necessary information regarding my case and ensured that I was able to speak and ...
