Peter is licensed to practice law in Michigan and has been admitted to the U.S. Tax Court. He is now providing legal counsel and legal services through his own law firm (Great Lakes Law Firm, PLLC). Most recently, he worked for a boutique tax-strategy and accountancy firm as its Tax attorney and Tax manager. Prior to that, he worked for the Office of Chief Counsel for the I.R.S. as a litigating, Senior attorney and at a resolution firm as a Tax attorney.
He graduated, magna cum laude and in the top of his class, from W.M.U. Cooley Law School with a J.D. in Transactional Law. He also received the Distinguished Student Award in the term he graduated. In 2020, he completed a LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Tax Law there too.
He has a few scholarly papers that have been published: one on tax (Comment on Limitations Periods and Return-Preparer Fraud, 36 W. Mich. U. T.M. Cooley L. Rev. 95) and one on real property (Comment on Golf-course Greens Fees: License fees or land income?, 34 W. Mich. U. T.M. Cooley L. Rev. 159).
Previously, Peter received a M.B.A. in Business Management from Eastern Michigan University, and he received a Graduate Degree in Banking from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. And, following in a family tradition, he also graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with two B.A.s: English Literature and Medieval History.
In his first career, he was a banker. For over twenty years, he worked in banks and credit unions in Michigan and Indiana. During this time, he worked in nearly every area within a financial institution (from a teller to an executive and everything in between). From this career experience, Peter has learned how to listen to clients and hear their needs.

Peter Mancini Evaluation
I had a problem with the IRS due equally to my mistake and a misreading by the IRS. I needed a lawyer who had requisite experience with this kind of problem and since I had never dealt with the IRS was understandably nervous. I found a champion in Peter Mancini! He is very courteous, and competent, ...
"My experience with Pete is as a colleague and goes back a couple years. I know him as an experienced negotiator of great skill. In reality that skill is what you want your representative to possess as 99% of legal conflicts are resolved without a Court's decision; through negotiation. In this capacity he is knowledgeable, insightful, intuitive, innovative, and tenacious. Exactly the lawyer you need!"
"Mr. Mancini is an excellent advocate for his clients. I would not hesitate to recommend him to a client in need."
