Sean B. McDermott

This man is about as useful as a wet napkin. As with other reviewers, I was a victim of Sean’s. This man submitted a plea deal that I explicitly rejected because he was too lazy to work the case. He knew I did not agree with what he was going to do so he did not notify me of the court date and never ...even reviewed discovery (or provided it to me) prior to unilaterally removing my right to having a trial. This man should be investigated, fined and disbarred if not arrested for perjury or fraud. I am writing a letter to the Michigan Bar association to complain. Literally an embarrassment to the profession, he cares about as much for his clients as he does for his health…if you get him as an attorney, request another one or represent yourself. Mr. Mcdermott will act in HIS best interest rather than his clients. Truly a scum and the embodiment of what people consider a “BAD LAWYER”.

I hired a Debt Collection Company to settle our debts. We had 4 account that they were to negotiate. This lawyer was hired through their law firm to settle 2 debtors that were suing us. From the beginning he was not upfront and didn't keep us informed. I did all the calling, faxing, emailing to both... the lawyer and the Debt Collection. We had paid the lawyer upfront and the Collection agency were taking payments every month. He didn't take responsibility for his actions. He didn't show up or inform us of a hearing. As a result it ended in a default judgment. As the month wore on we pleaded, begged and emailed everyone and anyone who would listen or help. On 6/28/14 we received a seize of asset in 5 days. It took the lawyer 2 days to respond to us. For the next couple days, I called, emailed and text everyone for help. All of them did was email each other as time ticked away. On 7/2/14 our vehicle was repossessed. Everyone dropped us to pick up the pieces. I had to borrow money to hire a Bankruptcy lawyer and on 7/7/14 we filed for Chapter 13. In the 11 months they had collected over $7000.00 and not one debt was settled. We now are left with all the fees, interest and had to combined all of our debt and are left to pay 7% interest for 5 years on all the debt. That isn't including the court fees, or the other lawyer we had to hire. He is not worthy of anyone's trust. His overall rating is a big fat "0".
