For Theresa Bodwin, a litigator in the firm’s Insurance Defense, Insurance Fraud, and Environmental Law groups, the courtroom is the place to be. Growing up with a father who is also a litigator, Theresa developed her love of the courtroom – and for helping others – early on. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, she went on to earn her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Michigan State University School of Law, where she served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Animal and Natural Resources Law and supplemented her classroom learning through externships with the Michigan Attorney General and the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office.
After entering the practice, Theresa joined her father’s firm and immediately began overseeing a busy general litigation docket. She later worked as an associate in another litigation firm before coming to Zausmer in 2016. She is presently on the State Bar Environmental Law Council.
On Theresa’s desk is a sign that reads, “Those who seek equity, must do equity,” a philosophy that informs her approach to the practice of law and for pursuing the most favorable outcomes for her clients. If there is a weakness in the plaintiff’s case or lack of factual support for a plaintiff’s claim, she will expose it.
