I was an attorney for many years and had a good reputation. I have seen hundreds of attorneys at work over the years, so I know what a good attorney is by the way they handle a case, deal with a client and opposing counsel, and work with a judge. Everyone brings a different style and temperament to... a case.
I am writing Marc an A+ review because he deserves it. I had a prior attorney who completely botched my case. She left me in a very disadvantaged position because my wife's attorney was aggressive, my attorney knew it and didn't respond to it and caused me to in a deep hole. It was a difficult divorce with many complicated issues.
I had to hire Marc about 5 months into the case with less than a month until mediation and a trial date within a week afterward. My wife's attorney was playing dirty and defying the court's order by not providing required documents and information in violation of the discovery rules. The judge didn't want to make the appropriate rulings to make the other attorney comply with the court rules. The judge would not push back the dates though it was the absolute correct thing to do.
Marc worked nights, weekends, and over Thanksgiving because he knew I was getting the shaft and felt it was wrong. He advised me on each step, kept his cool as I was burning because of the way the case had played out before he took it, was thorough, and professional. Most importantly, he paid attention to all the small important details that many sloppy attorneys look right past.
Because my emotions were in it, he had to be very forceful with me to let him do his job and not settle for a number that was far too low. He got me considerably more than I would have agreed to on my own with my emotional state. He advised me that he thought my case was worth more than I agreed to, but also let me know that it would be a roll of the dice to go to trial with a judge who had been pretty hostile to me to that point.
It would have cost me a lot more attorney fees to go to trial, plus the psychological costs to me and my children to continue. My wife's attorney would have tried to rip me apart. In addition, if the judge would have gone too far in either direction, the case would have gone to the court of appeals and lasted another year at least and probably two. I made the decision from a fully informed position.
Marc Is not cheap, but I have never had a case with a good attorney who is. There are also attorneys like my first one who is the same rate as Marc, but not even close in the quality of work. He also didn't run up the bill which can happen. Many attorneys do because it is hard to pin their hours spent down.
You are in good hands with him. You will come to that conclusion immediately.
