Biography
Marc Melamed is an expert in the drafting of Wills, Trusts, and other estate planning documents. Marc also helps his clients with Estate Administration and Probate allowing clients reduce their tax burdens and thus making certain that their wishes are fully carried out.
In addition to Estate Planning, Marc focuses his practice in the area of Business Planning including entity formation, operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, and stock and asset purchases.
Marc also works with charitable foundations and non-profit organizations. This ranges from Planned Giving to establishment of non-profits to the day-to-day operations and tax implications.
He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Prior to practicing law, Marc was a Director of Development for two universities and a Financial Advisor. These experiences enable Marc to practice with first-hand knowledge of client situations.
Marc is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Publication and Website Advisory Committee and contributing Editor of the Michigan Bar Journal, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Alumni Board of Directors, the Program Committee of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan, and Detroit Executive Service Corps.
Marc is a frequent speaker to professionals on Estate and Business Planning and Charitable Giving. He has authored numerous articles and seminars in the aforementioned areas.
