Can a convicted person that requested a direct appeal, after being convicted, withdraw and stop his appeal process?

You can withdraw your appeal, however, if the prosecutor files a cross appeal then you could be stuck defending that even if you withdraw your appeal.

No exception for that. However, you can speak to your probation agent about getting approval for that, but I doubt it is going to happen.
