Patrick John Butcher Jr.

Patrick Butcher Jr. graduated with honors from the Auburn Hills campus of the Thomas M. Cooley law school. While at Cooley, Patrick competed as part of the National Mock Trial Team at the Buffalo-Niagara Mock Criminal Trial competition – widely considered among the toughest mock trial competitions in the nation. Patrick and his partner made it to the top eight, and outscored many of the teams that made it through to the finals. Additionally, Patrick assisted low income filers with their income tax returns as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Association. Patrick received his undergraduate degree from Oakland University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts. The many skills learned while working as a professional actor lend themselves perfectly to the courtroom. While not completely finished in the entertainment business, Patrick has put acting on the backburner, choosing instead to focus his efforts on providing exceptional legal service to his clients. You might still catch him in a commercial from time to time, but you’re more likely to see him in a courtroom these days! Prior to law school, Patrick worked in his family’s construction business. Being the son of the owner allowed Patrick a great deal of insight into the many struggles and challenges that face a small business owner in Michigan. At the end of his legal education, Patrick externed at one of the Midwest’s largest law firms, working exclusively in the real estate title insurance group. This diverse background – theater, construction, business administration, real estate transactions – has Patrick in a position to provide a wide variety of legal services. In fact, in just his first few months as an attorney, Patrick has drafted estate planning documents, successfully represented a client through an alcohol related driving offense, completed a research project on check fraud, drafted several LLC operating agreements,  and even conducted an impromptu mini-trial, during which he successfully defended a client against a Personal Protection Order. All this, while also maintaining a busy debt collection practice!
