Steady and Strategic

I am extremely grateful for my attorney’s professionalism, strategic thinking, and steady guidance throughout a very challenging divorce. She is thoughtful, responsive, and knowledgeable, with a clear ability to balance legal precision and practical judgment. I especially appreciated her calm, measur...ed approach under pressure and her commitment to protecting both my legal interests and the broader/long-term context of my situation. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a collaborative, skilled, ethical, and dependable advocate.

I highly endorse Ms. Heather Bendure. I hired her to handle my divorce and she did an outstanding job.

I highly endorse Ms. Heather Bendure from the Grosse Pointe Law Center. I hired her to handle my divorce and she did an outstanding job and I was extremely happy with the outcome of my divorce judgement. She is professional, very prompt, very well organized, always planning months in advance, she kno...ws family law very well, and most importantly, was respected and listened to by the judge. She provided me with the law and expectations, and made recommendations but allowed me to make the final decision. I learned very quickly to go with her recommendations because they were always right. When Ms. Bendure spoke in court, she was well prepared and her arguments were logical, succinct, and relevant. On a couple of occasions the judge asked her to clarify what the opposing counsel was trying to say. The judge obviously was impressed with her arguments. I’ve been told that most divorces are solved in negotiations or mediation. Unfortunately, we ended up going to trial because my offers for settlement were dismissed by my ex and her offers were outrageous. My ex stopped negotiating at mediation which frustrated myself, my attorney and the mediator. Ms. Bendure was very organized and prepared for trial. She did a very thorough job at deposition, worked on a list of questions she was going to ask at trial, worked on a list of questions for me, coached me on how to answer questions, and provided me with additional information so that I was prepared for my time on the witness stand. To opposing counsel, she was friendly and courteous. To the judge, she was respectful, professional, well versed in family law and very well prepared. To me she was my champion. When it came to talking to my ex at deposition and trial, Ms. Bendure was very tough and was quick to jump on anything that helped my case. She didn’t accept any BS from my ex. Ms. Bendure gave me advice that I would like to share (I’m paraphrasing): (1) divorce is a marathon and not a sprint, (2) let me do my job, (3) don’t try to do my job (4) don’t respond to the ex’s statements, we’re going to court for a specific reason and that’s all we need to focus on, (5) do everything above board – we don’t ever want the judge to question what we’re doing, (6) at trial only respond to the question and answer with yes or no if possible, (7) I’ll be doing most if not all of the talking with the judge, and (8) relax I have it covered. I would also like to acknowledge the work that her assistant Amy did. She did a lot of the background research and provided very constructive and helpful suggestions when we prepared for trial. She really helped in the positive outcome of my divorce. My divorce is finally over but I have been seeking Ms. Bendure’s advice on business contracts. I totally respect all of her professional skills and I highly endorse her and the Grosse Pointe Law Center.

Best choice I ever made for family representation

Simply put, Heather is an excellent lawyer and very reasonable person. Over the course of 5 years, she proved extremely knowledgeable and able to provide best /worst options so I had a favorable outcome from every event. She listened to my priorities and rationale, and focused on details of my case... to give meaningful recommendations to helped me achieve arrangements ideal for my family and children. Heather communicates clearly and concisely, so I felt no fees were wasted. She also promptly responded (even outside business hours at times) to provide feedback when I needed it. I strongly recommend Grosse Pointe Family Law and Heather Bendure without hesitation for anyone seeking family law counsel.

Helped me through a horrible situation

Ms. Bendure is a very responsive, caring attorney. She explained all my options every step of the way, and made an unbearable situation bearable. I always felt like she had my best interest at heart at all times. She has also helped me create new contracts for my small business. I'm a do - it - ...yourselfer at heart, and she is open to letting me do what I can, but also very clear about when I need her expertise. She has a great sense of humor, which really helps through the hard times.
