horrible

Mr Santiago was assigned to us via Lakeshore Legal for a landlord/tenant issue in a clear case of retaliatory eviction for reporting toxic black mold. We thought we could trust him. In fact, he literally said "you have to trust me". We were wrong for trusting him. He misled us like cattle being led ...to the slaughter house. He took very little time to discuss the details of our case. When we attempted to open up dialogue to discuss details, he would cut us off to go in his own direction or he even went as far as calling my wife names like "snippy", we would go for long periods of time without hearing from him regarding the status of things, He failed to gather important evidence from us, he was aware of the landlord lying under oath of numerous instances and did and said nothing, on several instances, we had to clarify if he was the attorney for us or for the landlord because he did not seem to hold our best interests as a priority, we had our rights, privacy and health ignored to coddle the landlords ridiculous and unfounded accusations, we underwent a non jury trial and were never asked if we wanted a jury trial. He made that decision unilaterally and when questioned about it he stated "it's too late". After the results of the trial was for us to STILL be evicted in a retaliatory fashion, his consoling, calloused response was "well at least your things are still in boxes" These are just to name a few of the many instances, the list is extensive. Now we have to hire another attorney to fix the mess he made of things. It makes sense that Mrs. Parakh gave him a glowing review. She is a landlord attorney and apparently, so is Mr. Santiago. We learned the hard way. Do not trust him.
