David J. Winter

I am a Senior Shareholder at Sommers Schwartz, P.C. and was the Firm's CEO/President, managing over 40 lawyers, from 2007 to 2009.

Over the past 30 years, I have counseled and represented many individuals and families who have been catastrophically injured by the negligence of others. My practice covers a broad spectrum of medical malpractice, personal injury and business related issues. I have extensive experience in the role of advocate, litigator, arbitrator and mediator in solving legal disputes to the greatest possible advantage for his clients. I have lectured on insurance related issues and I enjoy mentoring young associates and high school seniors.

I live in Plymouth where I am as active on the home front as I am at the firm. I am involved in youth mentoring with the Detroit Public School System and a frequent guest lecturer at seminars dealing with insurance law, leadership and strategic planning. My inspiration to enter the legal field came from reading history as a young boy and learning about Abraham Lincoln’s dedication to using the law to help people
