James M. Pelland

Jim Pelland is an experienced civil trial lawyer with over sixteen years of successful experience representing individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex legal matters. Jim is a 1990 graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A in Financial Administration, and graduated summa cum laude from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1996. After law school, he spent ten years with the Detroit office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, PLC in its Commercial Litigation Department. At Miller Canfield, Jim worked on hundreds of cases ranging from landlord tenant matters and collection actions to complex commercial litigation and construction defect claims. In 2006, he formed the Law Office of James M. Pelland, PLLC where he continued to represent clients in criminal and civil litigation matters, along with serving other legal needs of individuals and businesses throughout Michigan.

Jim is a member of the State Bars of Michigan and Florida, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Mr. Pelland has served as the Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Rockwood since 2001, and was appointed to serve as the City Attorney in 2014. Jim joined the team at Fausone Bohn in 2013, and has been a vital resource for business and commercial clients from day one.

Jim lives in Plymouth with his wife and two children. A former Florida Iron Man participant and Youth Athletics coach, Jim continues to stay active in various recreational sports and to provide coaching and training to his two children in their sports.
