Jesse C. Vivian

I was a full time tenured Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where I taught pharmacy law, professional ethics and health care administration uuuuuntil I retired in 2016. I also consult with individuals, attorneys and insurance companies throughout the country on issues relating to my teaching and research interests.

I am also Of Counsel to the lawfirm, Cummings, McClorey Davis and Acho, LLP in Livonia, MI.

He is the author of several publications dealing with pharmacy law and ethics. In 1997, he was named as an Editor and co-author of Pharmacy Law Digest,  This publication was updated annually until 2006.  He co-authored the “Laws Governing Pharmacy” chapter in the 20th and 21st editions of Remington: The Science of Pharmacy Practice  In 1991, he began writing monthly columns on legal issues for Drug Topics and, since 1994, has been featured in the US Pharmacist “Legal Considerations” series. He is also a Contributing Editor for the journal.  Professor Vivian is the Co-author of Ethical Perspectives: Guidelines for Dealing with Ethics in Pharmacy Practice, a teaching manual used extensively in the Colleges of Pharmacy throughout this country and Canada. He has also authored numerous other chapters and articles appearing in the pharmacy and health care literature.
