When one works as an attorney in house a person handles a lot of issues, take an active role in risk management, and make decisions with a complete understanding of the business's ecosystem. Addressing issues before they arise and advising accordingly on those issues saves the client company time and money while improving the overall health of the business, thus protecting it. The role exposes one also to the delicate balance of decisions that need to be made and the gaps that must be addressed in order to avoid detrimental consequences. The business and legal realities converge and solutions need to be made. 

It is a different environment from the role of an attorney working at a law firm. Two years ago I deceded to dedicate my time fulltime to build my business. I also decided to build it to help small businesses owners, primarily those serving the defense industry. In my effort to better support my client base I designed my own LLM, if you will, where I invested in specific areas of law related to compliance and anti-corruption. As a result, now my practice focus is on business law, government contract law, export controls, and anti-corruption, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
