Would not recommend

A year after my divorce I am going to court for custody of my child. As people are looking over my papers, I am constantly being told that my lawyer did nothing for me, and I got screwed in every direction. I lost everything, no alimony, and nearly no child support for the child in my custody, no hom...e, lost my belongings for my hobbies. When in a meeting to divide our things, it felt like Mr. Decker sat back, and relaxed while the other lawyer did all the work. He did not argue for anything for me. I could have done on my own, what he did actually do, file paperwork.

I am very interested in further discussing the alleged issues with your divorce judgment. I encourage you to reach out to me via email or phone so that we can further discuss. I take issue with your comments, especially those where you indicate I "sat back, and relaxed while the other lawyer did all the work." I pride myself on being very hard working, prompt and diligent. The decision to settle or have a trial is not mine, however, the clients. If there was no trial, then there would be no "arguing for anything." I look forward to hearing from you.

DON'T DO IT "NOT HAPPY"

I would never recommend Mr. Decker. I hired him for my divorce. The consult went wonderful as of a strategy, evidence, witnesses and he advise so things I didn't think was possible but assured could be done. On the first day of the court, he was not the same guy I hired. Everything we had discussed f...or the strategy was somehow not an option. He pretty much sided with my ex-wife attorney. Advising to just go along with it for now, and later file a motion. I was confuse! So I asked what did they say about what I wanted as far as parenting time. He replied, "She's not going to agree with that, it's not too bad how about every Wednesday and every other Weekend." I'm thinking this is A.D.A.M. which is suppose to help defend fathers in the justice system that caters to moms. I understand that I won't get my way and divorce is compromising. However the attempt to defend my rights as a father was never met. I agree with another review, my ex-wife lawyer was coaching him through the process, he has no Backbone. I was so unhappy with Mr. Decker services I retained a new lawyer. The funds left over from unused billing hours from my case he drained every dime. After my new lawyer contacted him to transfer over the case. With my new lawyer I ended up with joint custody week on week off. No thanks to Mr. Decker.

Unfortunately Mr. Keiwan is inaccurate with his statements as the public records clearly reflects otherwise. More specifically, after the first court hearing the parties entered into a temporary order wherein they shared custody and Mr. Keiwan had "every Tuesday through Thursday with the minor children..." and "every other weekend beginning Friday through Sunday." This is clearly not " every Wednesday and every other weekend" as Mr. Keiwan erroneously thinks I stated and was more or less an equal schedule. I have a passion for what I do and I take my job extremely seriously and this is why I take the time to respond herein, especially when statements are made that are clearly inaccurate. I am sorry you feel this way about my representation which ended over 1 year ago and am glad that you were able to resolve your matter. I would be more than happy to further discuss this matter with you and answer any questions you may have, however, I would encourage a phone call or an office appointment.

NOT a happy client

I would never recommend him for a divorce or use again. Not experienced attorney who lead me to believe false information throughout my divorce process. Not knowledgeable enough as my wives attorney coached him through the process. As someone stated before no backbone! Not worth the money and adds mo...re to the initial agreed on fees! I don't feel he fought for me at all.

former client. I would never recommend this lawyer to anyone. He allowed my reputation to be destroyed.very inexperienced,bad...

He had no backbone when it came to defending his clients. Allowed my ex-wife and her lawyer to make false accusations against me.Made me be subjected to a full psychological evaluation when my ex wife had been seeing a "shrink" for 17 years but did not make her take a psychological exam even though s...he was on medication for depression and anxiety. Allowed the courts to award 75% of my pay in child support payments. Friend of the Court can only take 50% of net pay for child support. I am presently in foreclosure due to my inability to pay my bills and everyday expenses. My credit has been destroyed. The undue stress and torment that I have been subjected to was a direct result of Ryan Decker's inexperience and inability to protect the rights of working class Fathers in michigan. He represents the American Divorce Association for Men, let failed miserably when protecting the rights of whom he represents.Incidentally, he is no longer an Attorney for Timothy Hensick and Associates for unknown reasons.

"Ryan Decker is a strong advocate for his clients, knowledgeable about the law, works hard to bring forward all the facts and to find a resolution by agreement if that is possible, and to be completely prepared to go to trial if that is necessary. He responds quickly and is a problem solver, recognizing that a fair settlement is a long term win for his client."
