Incompetent

Chris was hired in 2012, and I will regretfully be paying for that decision, due to the borrowed money for years to come. I hired him to handle a divorce that was not challenged by my ex wife in anyway and she represented herself. What he won’t tell you is that he will come late to every si...ngle court proceeding and that he will pawn his work off to an elderly gentlemen, out of state, that does not even get your name right. He claims that this is just a colleague for mentorship and a second opinion…the paperwork that he promised would take two weeks took over two months and literally came back worse that it was started. I could have done better with a form online. If you want a second rate lawyer, that you go do better than personally with a search engine, than waste your money on him. If you need competent and professional courtesy and assistance you are at the wrong law firm. He missed every single deadline that he made, multiple times, and didn’t even try to challenge me when I told him I was paying him 100s of dollars less due to his incompetence. Hire someone who will not be late to court and pawn their work onto someone else once they have your retainer.

Our former client should have taken his complaints to the State Bar, especially since he says that he was financially taken advantage of. He wasn't. He started with an hourly rate of $200 but we dropped it to $185 hourly to give him a break. There were also things done that we "no charge[d]." We did not in any way prolong the case or somehow extend it for the purpose of adding billable hours to it. We took representation over from the client's first law firm with whom he was also unhappy. Eventually, his wife decided to continue the case on her own. This was good and bad. She decided not to ask for alimony/spousal support but that made the drafting of documents a bit more touchy, since a person who represents himself or herself in a divorce proceeding could come back after a Divorce Judgment was entered and the case was closed and say that he or she did not understand what was in the Judgment and /or that we somehow mis-led her. They would then ask the Court to set the JUDGMENT aside AND PURSUE A CLAIM FOR ALIMONY / SPOUSAL SUPPORT anyway (which would have been expensive indeed). So the drafting of the Judgment and other documents (three in total) which closed the case took longer than usual. Two of them were what you'd almost call "custom" documents -- tailored to the parties in particular -- just in case the former wife came back and tried to set aside the Divorce Judgment and make an alimony claim. Finally, I was late on two occasions -- each about 15 minutes -- which had no effect on the case. On a busy morning in the court house that's a very, very small delay for counsel which Judges understand. By the way, when we discussed a fee with the client near the end of the case, I merely waived it for him as an accommodation. We would like to reach out to this fellow and bury the hatchet, so to speak, in any event.

Family will

Our visit was to have a will and power of attorney papers drawn up. Chris was very thorough guiding us through the process. He was very organized, informative and patient answering all our concerns. We were very satisfied with his services and would recommend him . We will definitely use his services ...in the future.

Trustworthy, honest and diligent

I have known Christopher Tomaszycki for over 30 years. During the years of our friendship, Chris has represented my family on several legal issues. He advised and gave his legal opinion on drawing up my father-in-law's will, that dealt with estate matters; my mother's will and recommended an expert... in estate planning, and most recently represented us in a landlord/tenant dispute. He advised my husband and me on our legal issue, researched legal precedent and gathered evidence related to this situation and negotiated a "win" situation for our family. We have found him to be very capable, trustworthy, and a diligent lawyer. I could continue with descriptions of Christopher's many other good qualities--his work ethics, his knowledge of the law, and his honesty to name three. Instead, I would like to say how much we think of Chris and how strongly we recommend him for any legal matter. Nanci and Steve
